Rationale
Calendars - such as google calendar and Outlook - are popular with many activity providers. People can easily create, manage and update these from their own computers

A method for said calendars to then be aggregated into Plings would be useful

This needs a bit more info...

If this is about getting data into Plings, then there are problems because of a mismatch of fields. We know of a script that has been written to turn ical into the XML accepted by the API, but it can't put good data if those fields are missing.

Would you be looking at something that got the data almost ready to go, but perhaps needed user intervention to get right - How would this work with say repeat events?
